Global Citizen Solutions hosts the Wealth & Migration Summit on 5 and 6 November, bringing up to 200 attendees together with government representatives, private bankers, and country specialists. CNN Portugal will cover the event.
More families are asking a question they once thought they had answered: is home still the right base? And if not, where else could they put down roots, establish a second residency, or pursue citizenship? How should wealth be spread across borders? And what would a move mean for children’s schooling, family healthcare, and the life they want in twenty years?
None of these questions stands alone, yet most families answer them one at a time, with a different advisor for each. The Wealth & Migration Summit, hosted by Global Citizen Solutions at the EPIC SANA Marquês Hotel in Lisbon, is designed to bring those answers together.
Why Lisbon
Lisbon is where many of these questions are being asked. Portugal hosts one of Europe’s largest communities of internationally mobile families, and it is both a destination and a decision point. Some residents who came to Portugal through the Golden Visa or for the former NHR tax regime are weighing their next move after delays and rule changes. Families from the US, the UK, and beyond still rank Portugal among Europe’s most desirable places to live, and they want to understand their options before committing.
Day One: Global Mobility and Policy
The New Geography of Wealth & Mobility opens with the outlook for global mobility, including where wealth is heading, then turns to the programs themselves: the future of Caribbean citizenship programs, why nations compete to attract investors and wealth creators. In the afternoon, speakers map Europe’s residence routes into 2027, followed by US visa pathways for investors and global talent. A session on Asset Location vs. Asset Allocation explores why where wealth is held now matters as much as how it is invested. The day ends with a practical checklist on banking, healthcare, and daily life abroad.
Day Two: The International Family
Day Two, Global Wealth & the International Family, explores how these programs fit the lives and plans of families. Bankers and wealth advisors discuss diversification and how international families structure their assets, while industry leaders look at new destinations in investment migration, and panels explore building a Plan B, C, and D in an unpredictable world. The afternoon covers longevity and the 100-year life, philanthropy as a path to belonging in a new country, and raising children across borders, before the Summit closes with a guided tasting of Portuguese wines and a rooftop cocktail reception.
Workshops: From Options to a Plan
Throughout both days, specialists from Global Citizen Solutions and its partners lead small-group workshops on Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece, Malta, Panama, and the Caribbean. These sessions provide information on eligibility, timelines, and practical steps, and are led by the people who prepare applications every day.
The goal is for each attendee to leave with a defined next step on residence, citizenship, or relocation.
